Seeing spots

Art Impressions has come out with the new Girlfriends stamps and I am in love. I don't know about you but I see spots after someone takes my picture so I thought it was appropriate to use this image with design paper with spots on it. I also went back to my new favourite technique which is paper piecing two shirts and a pair of pants. The third top I made spots on with my Copic blender marker just so she would fit in with the rest of the crowd.

I stamped the image (AI girlfriends picture perfect set) using Momento Tuxedo Black Ink, Coloured the image with my copics and used a sakura stardust pen on the accessories to make the stand out. The design paper is from Bo Bunny's Market place line.

Bling is my inspiration

I have to say that when I start my cards I often am inspired by the various objects and embellishments that I house in candy jars above my desk. The colours play in front of my eyes and inspire what palette I will use. Not to mention I love how shiny bling is. So here I combined my new found favourite technique of paper piecing with my love of anything that sparkles.

For this card I used:
MFT Pure Innocence lotus stamp set
Bo Bunny's Hello Sunshine 6x6 paper pad
Prima flourish bling and rhinestones
Flowers from Michael's craft store
Copic Markers

Promised finally fulfilled

I have always oogled over other's cards that used paper piecing and promised myself I would try it. Well its been 3 years of paper crafting and I still had not done it. Last night, I was feeling inspired by a few of the challenges that I usually take part in and decided it was now or never. It is by far not perfect, as I learned some things during my first attempt, like don't glue the pieces on until after you colour, but I think it turned out okay non-the-less.

My card uses the following:
Doodlebug's snipes and snails 6x6 paper pad
Momento black ink and copics
My favourite things stamp set- Pure innocence lotus blossom
Prima flowers
Dew drops of the centers of the flowers

I love my mommy

This month was not only Mother's day, but it also happened to be my mom's birthday. I wanted to make a special card that was just from me and her New Grand daughter. I found this image in my stash from The Paper Shelter and knew it was the perfect one. I also decided to keep it simple this time so there are not any embellishments. I couldn't find a sentiment that worked so I just made my own up.

I used the following to create my card:
The Paper Shelter's image-"Proud Mom"
Design paper is from Little Yellow Bicycle-"Hello Spring"
Sakura glaze pens
Copic Markers
