Blog update

I know its been some time but I am still getting use to this new mom thing. I can't wait to find a little time to create but I think it will take a few more weeks before the little one is fully in a routine. Having said that, if you have any new parents in your life, I strongly suggest the book or DVD "The happiest Baby on the block". I have been reading other books about soothing and calming crying babies but nothing seemed to work until I read this one. I love CUDDLE time. It has helped me get my little one back to sleep after feedings in 10 minutes as opposed to the hour and a half it was previously taking me. YAY!

Baby Lockhart Arrives

My absence over the last week and a bit is due to the fact that our little one finally arrived Monday February 6th. She weighed in at 7lbs 8oz and was 54cm in length. Both her dad and I are over the moon with out little angel. She has been keeping us quite busy. So until I get a routine going here with her at home, my posts will be sporadic at best. Once she settles down I hope to get some crafting time in.

Here she is:

Its gotta be Love

I recently purchased a bunch of Stamps from The paper shelter. I love their images and especially fell in love with Love in Venice. I knew it would come in handy for Valentines day. I wanted it to be bright and fun so I decided to go with some non-traditional colours which were inspired by Basic Grey's Lauderdale paper line.

I used the following products to create my card:
The Paper Shelter image "Love in Venice", Basic Grey's Lauderdale 6x6 paper pad, Copic markers, and Starry Night Stickles.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Trying to play catch up

I always tell myself that I will eventually catch up on my scrapbooking pages, but it never seems to happen. So while baby is keeping me awake, I decided to get a few pages done before I have no time for catch up. This page is one from a trip my husband and I took last year. We went to Lake Louise and took in the Ice carving competition they host annually. It was amazing to watch the works of art come together, partake in some skating on the lake, and eating a fancy fondue dinner.

For this project I used the following:
Pink Paisley Snow Day paper, card stock, Tim Holtz Carnival thin strip die, and a cuttlebug. I really kept it clean and simple because I wanted the pictures to speak for themselves.

Got the munchies?

I have to admit that I simply love the House Mouse stamps but rarely do I colour them in. I decided to go back to the very first stamp I purchased from them to create a new card and challenge myself with my Copic colouring. Here is the end result:

This card uses the following products:
House Mouse image "An Apple a day", Basic Grey Pyrus paper and matching bling, Martha Stewart Maple Leaf around the page punch, and Copic Markers.

I love you Honey

I found this lovely coloured image in my stash and decided it was time to make something with it. With only 10 days left till my due date, my husband has been increasingly patient with me and my aches and pains. I plan on giving this to him when our little one comes just to show him how much he means to me. I love the bright colours and the Stampavie stamps are one of my favourites.

The card uses the following:
Basic Grey's Picadilly 6x6 paper pad design paper, Stampavie image "I Love Honey" by Penny Johnson, Cardstock and ribbon from my stash.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Basic Grey challenge #61 Favourite things

Sarah Hurley challenge #59 Love is all around
Digi doodle shop challenge #93-Love is in the air
